Drew & Nikki Wilkinson established Shelford Delicatessen in 1999 with the main aim of creating a practical, high quality food grocer with the emphasis on home cooked produce and excellent service. Drew is a qualified chef and started our home cooked fresh dish menu the first Christmas after we opened and it proved a BIG hit! We realised that there was a niche for excellent quality pre-made dishes suitable for dinner parties or for busy people with good taste! Check our dinner page for what's on. We can of course reserve, and freeze down, any item if you let us know before the day it is available. Don't forget we also have plenty of supplies in our shop display freezer too. We also do a roaring lunch trade of bespoke soups, salads & sandwiches all made fresh at the deli every morning. We use Newnham Bakery bread and local suppliers wherever possible. Come in and take a look at our shelves too which are packed with local & worldwide delicacies!

Monmouth Coffee
The best coffee in the world!
We are very pleased to now sell Monmouth Coffee. For over 30 years they have been sourcing the best raw Arabica coffee beans from small family run farms and specifically grown for Monmouth. Pre-dating the 'fair trade' trademark, perhaps inspiring it, they have one to one relationships with all the owners & workers, visiting them to taste new coffees & working with them to improve in all respects. An inspirational company, enjoy your coffee knowing everyone in it's production has enjoyed making it for you! Uniquely roasted to order the day before it comes to the Deli, at Monmouth's warehouses sited under the railway arches South of Tower Bridge, London. We have their espresso blend for our coffee machine & for sale with its 3 constituent single estate origins, Brasilian Barreiro (fruity), Columbian Quebradon (light, complex)& Guatemalan Tecuamburro (chocolatey). We also have their Columbian Swiss Water Deceffeinated Columbian La Rochella.

Pasta with Pancetta, Parmesan & Herbs
Simple, delicious & looks absolutely amazing, a cut away from the usual pasta sauces, it is great on its own or with a BBQ.
