Kitchen Assistant + Retail Team Member

THE ROLE  

 

We need a reliable & energetic kitchen assistant / retail team member for our close-knit team who has the flexibility to help the main kitchen but also has the ability to do some customer-facing service + till work when necessary.

​

You will work mainly in the kitchen cooking off trays of prepared products such as croissants, pastries, salads, pizzas + ciabattas, labelling our takeout products and helping to provide all necessary product lines required in store.  You will have a genuine love of good food & cooking.

​

You need to be self-motivated + efficient whilst remaining committed to focusing on the company’s passion for excellent quality and customer service. You will need to be adaptable, friendly, be able to plan, prioritise and multi-task. You will have a positive attitude, be energetic and love the excitement of working in high performance retail with a supportive team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bake company fresh-food retail products to order as required.

  • Food preparation

  • Ingredient orders / rotation / quality checking + date monitoring

  • Cold + Dry stores cleaning, rotation + restocking in line with company schedules

  • Accurate labelling of products being aware of ingredients, datelines + allergens

  • Greet and assist customers as necessary when other sales associates are busy and process sales orders if necessary.

  • Ensure all process and procedures are adhered to and all activities are managed professionally.

  • Ensure that your section is hygienic, clean, safe and presentable at all times;

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE + SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene is an advantage but training will be provided if you don’t have this.

  • Some experience of working in a commercial kitchen environment is ideal but not necessary.

  • Enjoy team work + organisation

  • Excellent health + hygiene skills

  • Work efficiently under pressure on your own with the ability to work at pace and make clear decisions

  • Be able to prioritise workplace jobs and remain unruffled in an often busy & demanding environment

  • have a passion for fine food, good sustainable ingredients and cooking

  • be able to develop confidence in preparing our product range unaided being observant of the seasonal changes in ingredient

  • You will have a positive attitude, be energetic and love working in specialist food industry

  • Have a keen desire to learn and develop with a “genuine” passion for artisan food and high service standards

  • Successful candidates will need to be flexible as working hours may change from time to time.

Position details:

 

Part-time, permanent position, we are offering a good competitive salary dependent on experience. Hours: 24 hours per week over three days starting early at around 7am. Days would include Tuesday and Wednesday every week and either a Friday or Saturday alternating each week to allow some weekends free. A six month probationary period will initially be given to the right candidate.
